1St Fill And I Don't Know What's Normal...

Recommended Posts

I just got my first fill about 2 hours ago (3.5cc in a 10cc band) and think I may be too tight... But I'm not sure. I hear people say that sometimes the first fill takes a few days to get used to, so I don't want to be a worrier and get it unfilled if it's not necessary... But on the other hand it's going on the weekend and I don't want to end up throwing up, being unnecessarily uncomfortable, or having it get worse...

Here's what I'm feeling, do you guys have any thoughts?

  • After the fill I was immediately a little nauseous, but ultimately able to drink 2 dixie cups of Water... I felt the cold Water backing up into my throat and my chest felt tight, but when I added warm water it went down...
  • Now, 2 hrs later, I still feel slightly nauseous, like there's a lump of mucus in the back of my throat.
  • I'm uncomfortable and feel a tightness in my chest. I assume it's the band and that it hurts a little.
  • I am able to drink. I'm sipping Vitamin water and it is going down.

Nevermind... I know in my heart that this is too full. After reading some other posts this morning about being overfilled and damage to the stomach, I'm going back to the doc now to have some taken out before I hurt myself. I don't think this should hurt...

The stomach swells when the band is tightened. if you can get liquids down then I think you will be ok. the swelling subsides after 2-3 days

But is it supposed to hurt? Like sharp, throbbing?

OMG I feel so much better!!! They took out 1cc and instant relief. It felt like having a rubber band tied around my finger that was throbbing and in pain from lack of circulation... And I could feel the Water moving through the band this time, not just sort of seeping through...

I still feel nauseous and achy, but it feels more like irritation than the tight throbbing... At least I hope!

I had a little chest tightness and felt a little strange last night too. But I feel fine today. Have you been coughing or strangling at night?

stick to liquids for a couple of days to let things settle down before you go back on regular foods. i hope the next fill isnt so traumatic

Totally fine today, thank you so much Sunshyne!

I must have just been very irritated, but I'm 1000x better today and am able to drink a yogurt smoothie and some Tomato Soup. No idea how I'm going to manage getting 60-80g Protein a day, but I'll deal with that once i"m back on food...

Restriction is not meant to be painful! I'm grad you got a little unfil. You can modify this during your post fill but below is my go to Breakfast you can thin it out with milk for now since it is pretty dense.

Chobani fruited yogurt (you can use a hand blender to mince the fruit) 150 cal 14 g Protein

1/2 scoop vanilla whey isolate Protein powder 50 cal, 10 g Protein

benefiber

So for about 200 cals you get about 24 g of protein

I am on solids so I add some walnuts (which are a good fat and have protein)

about 1/3 cup high protein Kashie Go Lean (adds more protein

Adding the above about another 150 cals but also some good protein being added.
