Thanks Jen!

And Oh no... You could make yourself very sick if you overeat. I sometimes remind myself the temporary enjoyment of that food isn't worth it. Your eating today may not have been good, but the important thing is not to dwell on it. Just start fresh tomorrow. You have been doing so well, hang in there. :) start with exercise routine and hitting your Protein goal.

So yesterday I reset and had a great day. I started the morning with my first 5K! I haven't really been doing the couch to 5K but I decided to go anyway. I walked most of it but did do some running. My friend and some fellow WLS support group members came. It was fun and definitely want to sign up for another one.

Yesterday's meals:

Breakfast: coffee/water

Lunch/Brunch: a few bites of omlette, slice of bacon, 3 small pieces of hash brown potatoes

Dinner: 3 oz Turkey meatballs, broccoli 1/4 cup

Today:

Breakfast: Protein Shake

Lunch: 3oz meatballs

Dinner: 3 oz meatballs, bit of broccoli

Snack: greek yogurt

Trying to get Water in and able to hop on the treadmill!!

Oh, and a NSV for me....after the 5K I went and bought new workout pants since my old ones are too loose. I had to keep pulling them up while I was running. :) :)

i did a lot of reading last night about overeating and the band. A reality check for me. Don't want a band slip so I guess I need to get this emotional eating in check. I have focused on eating a lot slower so it gives my brain a chance to register full.

I am proud of you Jen!! How cool that you have made friends from your WLS group you can work out with. We all need to refocus from time to time :)

Well I think I have finally hit a plateau. I can't seem to get under 218. Gained 1lb last week (despite not eating or exercising ANY differently than I have been). In the past few days I have lost that 1lb but otherwise scale hasn't budged in 2 or 3 weeks. I don't understand. I do go in for a fill next week so maybe they'll put more Fluid in my band... But I am not hungry, or overeating. Do I just need to step up the exercise or eat different foods? :(

Breakfast - 6oz yogurt

Hey Natalie

So sorry to hear about your friend. Unfortunately I have been MIA because my dad has been ill-admitted into hospital yesterday and moved to ICU today. He will undergo an biopsy of his lungs tomorrow morning to see what they need to do to treat the pneumonia. I am very worried. My eating has been light- yogurt, hot tea and Soup -and I have lost a few pounds this week. Stress and a tight band.

Enjoy you pizza night!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, Jen! You must be very overwhelmed at the moment. I can understand, as we had a heart attack scare with my grandmother last weekend. All you can do is be there by his side and stay positive. He will be in my prayers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
