fabfatgrl 10 Posted March 13, 2006 Didn't have to do a liquid diet (or any diet) before my surgery, but I did do medifast at one time. it was nasty... i couldn't stay on it... and expensive, as well. As for Vitamins, when filled, I did two Flintstones with Iron and Viactiv for Calcium.< /p> Remember that you can't always safely cut up meds... especially time-released ones. Talk to a pharmacist before doing so. I did have a pill get stuck once... some gigantic horse-pill antibiotic. Was horrible. Horrible. Ended up going back to the pharmacist and they exchanged my Rx for me (called my Dr first). BCP is a good size-gauge... but for me, I had no problem with normal sized pills... so aspirin size. Actually, i had a Rx for pills that size post-op for pain from Rumbaut... and they went down fine. So, I used that as my gauge.
dolphin_dreams 0 Posted March 14, 2006 Source of Life by Nature's Plus is a wonderful liquid Vitamin. I started taking it before surgery while I did my Optifast. I feel like it really makes a difference in my energy level. I get mine at a health food/vitamin shop at our Drug Emporium. You can also get it at the Vitamin Shoppe or On-line. Wheetsin 714 Posted March 14, 2006 I'm using the orange flavored Centrum chewable. It's ok, I can take it or leave it. I considered the Centrum liquid but it had 5g carbs per dose, and this had 0 so I took it. I'd love a different option, but for now it works. I can't think of the Calcium brand I use... Caltrate or something like that. It's chewable. Kind of like gigantic Tums, comes in 3 flavors to the bottle that aren't great, but better than the Centrum. Northernsun 4 Posted March 14, 2006 I always took GNC Vitamins so when I needed a chewable or liquid I tried there first. STAY AWAY FROM THE LIQUID!!!!!! It is SO SO nasty!!! :help: The smell is enough to gag you. The chewables are lemon lime and don't taste too bad. The chewable Calcium are cherry and pretty good tasting. They told me they are coming out with a powder in the woman's formula that you mix with a liquid. Might try that next time.
