I didn't like the adult Centrum chewables myself. They're just too big so I take Flintstones Complete chewables. Doc recommended them :) It's my understanding that all your medications should be in liquid form or pills that are no bigger than a birth control pill or pills that can be cut or crushed but, every doc is different. You're best to ask your doc.

The Centrum chewables are okay - that's what I take. I don't care for the taste, and chewing them for me is something akin to eating a sweet tart, which I don't like, so sometimes I put it in my mouth with Water and let it half dissolve before I chew, then swallow it quick.

My Biotin is in capsule form, as well as my tylenol, and I have no issues taking either.

I take Viactiv chewables and it helps me get my chocolate fix. :) They do wonders for me. I have never been able to grow finger nails and mine are very hard and long. Give them a try.

I was told no pills bigger than a pencil eraser, but I like the birth control comparison better. I WOULD NOT WANT TO GET A PILL STUCK! I've heard it's painful and takes a while for the pill to dissolve.

I personally take viactiv chewable Multivitamin and Calcium. It's kind of like a little treat every morning. The chocolate is better than the fruity one, tastes a little like a tootsie roll. I take the caramel Calcium and chew them together. Tastes kind of like a little candy bar when together :eyebrows:.

As for any other pill, if I can't break it into small enough pieces for safe swallowing (I hate crushed pills :yuck:), I resort to liquid or chewable.

I was wondering about Vitamins and found myself at Walmart in the children's section looking at Flintstone vitamins and comparing the ingredients to some of the other vitamins. They seem to have just as much in them, and surely they taste good. They have been on the market for years and my kids loved them. I don't know if more than one would be required for an adult though. I will have to look into this Viactin. A couple of my pills are very small and I should have no problem. A couple are bigger and I will crush them, except for heart medication which it says "do not crush". Will have to ask the dr. about that one. Thanks for all the helpful info in vitamins.

Tylenol makes a liquid for adults, it tastes like cough Syrup and is so much easier than hacking up a sticky tablet that got stuck. Eeeew. I use the Centrum chewables because they contain trace minerals. Flintstones or gummies usually do not and just have way too much sugar for me to feel good about. Besides who wants to try to do the converison math?

Luck to you Dody!

Flintstones for me. Every thing else had a bad taste. I agree with the Optifast comment----UGH. Hang in there it won't be long.

I've been using the Centrum liquid...it's really not that bad. It's easier for me to remember for some reason. Tastes kind of a berry flavor...I don't know...I like it enough.

I take one chewable Centrum, 2 chewable Calcium (600mg), 1 Vitamin E (400 ui), and 3 chewable Vitamin C (500mg) per day. I just drink Water when I chew them and they go down fine. I take one C with each meal, and one Calcium with Breakfast and one with lunch. I hate taking pills, so I dont mind the chewables at all. I have no problems swallowing the E.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
