Is There A Connection?

Recommended Posts

I had a uterine ablation over 3 years ago for heavy periods. Since then I have had no periods at all, which is awesome:) I have heard in the past that weight can affect many things in women, including the ability to have children, so that is why I am wondering if this is in some way a connection to my recent weight loss or another problem I should look into. I am 43 years old and as far as I know have not started menapause yet.

I had my Lap Band Surgery January 25th. I have lost 45# so far. But last month I notice some spotting and then just this past week I actually needed a pad for a few days.I know I am not pregnant, because my husband had a vasectomy 4 years ago, so I am wondering if this has anything to do with my change in weight, affecting my hormones and such? Anyone ever had any issues like this?

Losing weight causes the estrogen stored in fat cells to be released, so that may be the cause of the spotting. But if you had an ablation and are suddenly spotting after having no period at all for 3 years, it's worth a chat with your gynecologist. Better safe than sorry!

I agree with Jenn on both counts- it is probably weight loss related- I'm on the mirena and hardly have ttotm, but it's happened 2 time since being banded- but it is also worth a look see by the gyno!

I was just 50 when I was banded... but was having regular cycles... including the month of and 1st month after surgery. But then I skipped the 2nd month after surgery...went into utter panic since there should have been no way I could have been pregnant.....and havent had a monthly visit since. I have no idea why... my dr cannot explain it... although I am scheduled for my yearly soon where he will test my levels and determine if I am post menapausal.... either way.... I do not miss the cycles or the weight. :)....

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
