colleeb 5 Posted May 16, 2012 I am trying decide on the lap band and have been in contact with cibo clinic in Toronto. Has anyone had theres done with them? how was the experience?
kaluah 1 Posted May 16, 2012 I had mine done there on March 26th, 2012 and they were excellent. I would highly recommend them as the support system there is really good. Along with the surgery, they have a nutritionist, psychotherapist and chiropractor/sports doctor that will answer all your questions. I have met with each of them and they are helping me with questions I have along with giving me an exercise plan to follow.

kaluah 1 Posted June 5, 2012 I have lost 30 lbs so far (since starting the pre op diet) and feel great. I am more consious about what I put in my mouth. I just came back from vacation and lost another 2 lbs. I ate the same as everyone else except I stopped eating when I was full. When I grew up, I was taught to eat everything on my plate. When I let go of that habit, I found it much easier and don't feel the least bit deprived. They sutured my band and port too. Once you heal, you don't even know it's there. CIBOGUY 1 Posted July 28, 2012 Hey Everyone, Am really hoping more CIBO patients will come forward and share their experiences, negative and positive. Thus far my experience at CIBO is fantastic and don't quite understand why their are so many people on here bashing it, especially when it is not even the clinic they were banded at. Hopefully the CIBOers will take the time and share their pre/post op, fill, aftercare experience so guys like me can have a more well rounded perspective. If you are going to critize CIBO please make it constructive and based on factual information or personal experience and not from a thread you read 5 years ago. Excited to hear what you have to say. colleeb 5 Posted July 28, 2012 Hi Brian I am still trying to make the decision to have the surgery (don't know what Im waiting for) however I do believe I am going to go with CIBO from the talks I had with them and also the lifetime of support really makes me want to go with this clinic. How has your post band life? Any regrets getting banded?
CIBOGUY 1 Posted July 28, 2012 Hi Colleeb, I haven't actually been banded yet, August 20th! Just hoping to hear what other CIBOers have to say about their experience. Good luck with your decision! Brian
kaluah 1 Posted August 1, 2012 I was banded in March and have lost 31 lbs. I still think it's the best thing I ever had done and would recommend CIBO to everyone. I haven't lost anymore weight but that's really my own fault. It's very easy to slip back into your old habits so I've given myself a kick in the butt today and plan to start losing again. The good thing about the band is that it lets you know when you've eaten enough. I've had a couple of episodes where food I've eaten too quickly or too much and it feels like a golf ball is stuck. The only way to help the food go down is get up and walk, walk, walk. I think someone mentioned about having it stitched into place and that's exactly what they do. I would recommend Dr. Dennis Hong and the CIBO clinic to anyone.

AlleyKat 26 Posted August 2, 2012 So I called them it they said they suture the band to prevent slippage.Did you have this done? i called CIBO and they seemed great but I ended up going with Slimband in Toronto with Dr Cyriak and Dr. Yau who were amazing. They also suture the band to prevent slippage.

NurseLydsss 59 Posted September 2, 2012 Hello all, I'm having the same dilemma as coleeb. I decided to have the surgery, but I'm having trouble choosing bet. CIBO and SWLC...only because I am not getting much feed back on the after care @ CIBO, however I love the fact that they offer life time after care. I really wish more CIBO bandsters would give their opinions regarding their experience and specially the after care.
