Yay, well each Dr. Is different, and so is each insurance, For me i did a fast track seminar, where i had some of my appointments right after the seminar. You should call the Dr. Office and tell them you want to make an appointment for the next step. I have to do blood woork, attend 2 support group meetings, get an xray, have a physc eval, and i believe 2other things i cant remember, plus my insurance requires me to do a 90 diet. Im looking at a end of summmer surgery date. :)

Depends on Insurance mainly. There are a lot of hoops to jump through before you actually get a surgery date. From my seminar to surgery it was

3 1/2 - 4 months.

My journey was a seminar, consult with doctor, signed off med records to bariatric tem which took some time, denial of insurance because I didn't have documentation of supervised diet from primary doctor, then after approval, psych consult, nutrition consult, measurements and photo, a couple of information classes, another surgeon consult to go over procedure, two week diet including liquids only... And voila surgery!!!!

Your surgery date will be here before you know it. When I was being wheeled into surgery, I just start crying out of the blue. I just could not believe how fast time flew.

Good luck! Mine was a 6 month documented diet, now I am just waiting for the approval. Can't believe it, but it really did go by fast and I have learned a lot too!

Mine was also a 6 month documented diet. I got really sick and had to wait 2 more months for a total of 8 months. It seems like time flew.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
