4.2 Cc In A 10 Cc. Band. Is That A Lot

Recommended Posts

Seems like alot to me. I was always given 1/2 cc's-1 and the last time which was my 4th fill since surgery, they gave me 2cc's, which makes a total of 5cc in my band right now. Seems to be a good number for me. I was told that if they start off slow, your body is able to adapt easier to each fill.

My first fill was 3.7 (not sure how they decide)

My first fill was 3 cc's, and I think the second was 2, and from there 1, and then eventually .2-.3 at a time.

I kind of wished they had done higher fills early on since it took me until 10.6 to get restriction.

I have 4cc currently after two, 2cc fills. I definitely am forced to eat slower. I feel some restriction and like where I am now. I am thinking I need one or two more cc to be perfect.

It's hard to say if that's a lot since everyone gets restriction at different levels...I would just watch the restriction and not how many cc's u have cuz that'll drive u insane..lol

My 1st was 2.5, my 2nd was also 2.5 for a total of 5.0. I still have no restriction.0k, maybe a tad bit at breakfast/lunchtime but at dinner time I can eat like a beast! Hoping and praying my 3rd fill on the 29th is a charm!!!!

I haven't had surgery yet but at my last visit I asked my surgeon what size band he is going to use and if he fills it at all at the time if surgery. He said he will probably use a 12cc band and usually fills it with 3-4ccs at the time of surgery.

4.2 does sound like a substantial 1st fill, but not insane, and I don't think it's a lot to have 4.2cc in a 10cc band. You can see my fill progression in my signature, but at the moment I have 7cc in my 11cc band, so 4.2 doesn't seem like too much. Everyone is different though, so as long as you can get down foods and liquids, I'm sure you're fine. :)

My 1st fill was today also. I had 4 ccs in already, got one more cc today for a totally of 5 ccs in a 10 cc band. I guess my doc office is pretty aggressive.

I didn't have any fill at surgery. My first fill would have been 3cc's, but I vomitted up Water afterward, so she took out 1cc. That left 2cc's. The next fill was .5 and each one thereafter has been very, very small. My PA said my band and stomach are very senstive to fills. This last fill, she put in a bit more than normal and I had to go back the next day and get some taken out because I couldn't get my Protein Shake down. I'm currently at 3.4 cc's in a 10cc band. I don't think I will be able to tolerate much more. Plus, I feel very close to the green zone.

I had 4mls put in my 10mls band at time of surgery. When I went for my first fill I was told the 4mls had reduced to 3.5mls.Apparently this isn't uncommon. I had 1ml added to this on 5th May and am due my next appt in 3days:)

My first fill was 4cc, 2nd was .5cc and the 3rd which was just last week was 1cc for a total of 5.5cc and I am still getting hungry in the afternoons like crazy. I will be glad when I can get some restrictions. Good luck to you....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
