Swedish Massage Here I Come.

Recommended Posts

I have had an issue with neck and shoulder pain since my lap band surgery. I was told that at first it was gas, then months went by and they said it could be that I am eating too much at once or to fast, even when I'm not:( So now, 4 months later, I have decided to go another way around this and see if it helps.

My husband bought me a visit to a Chiropractor for a Swedish Massage. I have never had a massage before, but have heard they are awesome. I am starting to wonder if I have a pinched nerve that is causing the pain, so we will see if this helps. I have been told they can give me pain killers and muscle relaxers, but I already take enough pills as it is, I'd rather not. Too bad I can't get in until the 9th of June. I'm so ready for this to go away.

Massages are so therapeutic! I get one at least monthly. I usually do Thai which is more stretching with some massage. I hope u enjoyed it & it made u feel better. Sometimes u feel like crap after them bc it releases a lot of toxins & flushes them out of ur system. That's y they want u to drink lots of Water after.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
