lpawulak 0 Posted May 15, 2012 I am struggling and I need some help and words of encouragement. I too cannot eat bread, and had to have some Fluid removed last month. I have gained 6 pounds and am very discouraged. I know that I forget to slow down when I eat and that gets me into trouble. Please post your thoughts and what you have done to get back on track. I had my band surgery in Feb 2008. Thanks, Laura
honk 780 Posted May 17, 2012 Are you weighing yor Protein? My doctor says 3 oz. Prepare your protein in a low fat/cal/carb manner. Eat the protein first and then eat low fat/cal veggies (I prefer raw) until full. While I can eat bread, Pasta, white potatos I choose not to due to the carbs. Joybgunter 19 Posted May 17, 2012 I cut out bread due to the fact that I did not want to waste what precious room I had w it. Save it for something GOOD!!
vlp1968 83 Posted May 17, 2012 Are you working out? If not, I highly reccomend you start. Not only does it spur on weight loss it helps with food choices. Good luck!
Boniluuu 25 Posted May 17, 2012 I have been banded a momth. Had a painful time with a tortilla. Gave up bread. Use lettuce as bread on a sandwich. Dont give up. It will get better.
Jenn1214 120 Posted May 17, 2012 I've heard that a good way to slow down during meals is to eat with your non-dominant hand. Also try putting your fork down in between bites. Take a good look at what you're eating. Is it mostly solid Protein and veggies, or are you eating more sliders? Don't worry about not being able to eat bread...I don't eat it at all because it's just not worth it. Also try bumping up your exercise a little and make sure you're drinking enough Water.< /p> Don't be discouraged. It's 6 pounds, not 60, so at least you're on top of the situation before it gets out of hand. You can get back on track...believe in yourself!
zinhaa 363 Posted May 17, 2012 Take your time. Be there when you eat( being mindful). Put your fork down between bites. Take the time to cut really small pieces then use chop sticks to slow you down at the beginning
