When did you normally start to lose a decent amount of weight after surgery. I know everyone's bodies are different, but wanted to hear everyones success.

I had surgery in 2007. I weighed 246 and within 18 months I had lost 120 pounds. I say with guilt that I did this without much exercise. It was a very easy for me to lose the weight and I have kept most of the weight off. I have had some issues with my band tilting so it creates some issues and I have had Fluid removed. I have gained about 20 pounds backover the last 2 years mostly due to lack of trying. I have started working out and watching what I eat. My insurance no longer covers anything to do with weight loss so I am trying to lose the good old fashion way instead of going in for a fill that will cost me $300.00.

Thats good weight loss. I have about 70 to lose.

I started out over 400 pounds. I think the heavier you are the faster it comes off at first. Got a long way to go.

Good Luck!

Yes the more you weigh, the faster it comes off unless you are one that it doesnt matter. I have only lost 3 pounds since surgery which was on May 9th. I hope it comes off quicker than what it has. I will be getting that program everyone uses for there calorie intake.

I am 15 months post surgery and I am down 75lbs, its coming off much slower now than in the beginning and I have to work really hard and really watch my calories in order to lose just 1lb a week.

I have lost about 60 pounds post op... it took me almost 5 months.

Its all about the individual, and how much your working out and sticking to the diet ( which is not easy but worth it))))

I still have another 30 to go!!!

I also was banded on may 9th and have only lost a total of 16lbs. since my pre op diet. I think I am doing something wrong. What diet are you following?

I have averaged 11 lbs per month.... for 17 months. In the begininning it came off faster but now that I have 30 more to go its about 1-2 lbs per week....
