Lapband & Amusement Park Rides

Recommended Posts

I had the Lapband with plication on May 8th. A thought crossed my mind that I didn't ask about before I was banded. Will still be able to ride the awesome six flags rides or that fun something of the past?

I sure hope so because I haven't been able to fit on most those rides in many, many years!

I don't think it's a problem. I'll let you know in August! wooOOOOOoooohooOOOooo........

I did ask before I considered surgery and was assured it was okay! I can't wait!

You definitely will. I was banded 10/2010, and last summer, decided to go and 'see' if I could fit in the rides. I had a blast. Every ride, no matter how crazy, gave me no problem with band or port. Enjoy your new life, don't let fear hold you back!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
