Secondchanceatlife 38 Posted May 14, 2012 I am so excited and eagerly awaiting my surgery on June 12th! I do however, have a couple of questions...... 1. How soon did you all start exercising after surgery? 2. Was/is the "mental" part hard for you?

AlleyKat 26 Posted May 14, 2012 Congrats on your date! I am getting my band June 22nd! My friend was banded May 11th and I was at her appointment. The surgeon said to start walking right away, even if it is just a little bit you need to get moving. I know you cant swim until atleast a week afterwards but I think for anything else it would just be what you feel you are up to doing. No one knows your body better than you do! Good luck!! Secondchanceatlife 38 Posted May 14, 2012 Thanks AlleyKat! That makes perfect sense. My doctor said the same thing, as far as starting walking right away to deal with soreness, prevent bloodclots, etc. But I was wondering the approximate time of when everyone started with other stuff like aerobics, weight lifting, etc. But what you said as far as no one knows our body like we do is exactly right. I just never thought of it that way I guess. Congrats on your date too! And good luck!
