Anyone From April Had Banded Filled?

Recommended Posts

I had my surg. On 4/27/12. I had my first fill of 2 cc's on 5/27/12, and I lost 8 pounds that month. Just got another fill of 1.25 cc's and can hardly eat anything. I think I got my "sweet spot" already! It's been hard to fight the head hunger! I can feel that I'm full, but I still have to take a bite or two more, and this is soo bad, that I get pb's.

I was banded on the 23 april 12, i had my first fill on the 6 june 12. I still don't feel any restrictions, I am having a hard time and lost anymore weight but I have not gained any either. I really don't know what to do.I have my next fill on 11 july, hopefully this will help me get better results.

I am right there with you~! I was banded on April 9th and had my first fill on June 6th. My next fill isnt' scheduled until July 25th. My doctor is VERY conservative; he put nothing in band during surgery and will only fill every 6 to 8 weeks. I have lose 31 pounds and I joined Anytime Fitness. I just wish I knew before surgery that it was going to take at least 4 months to get to the restriction stage. This is something that was NOT mentioned during my seminar or pre-op visits and I know my doctor and nutritionist sure didn't mention it. I know that it did not take me 6 months to put on this weight. But, I am getting tired of everyone saying "Wow you had lab band surgery in April. . . any regrets". . . . will power is fading F-A-S-T-

I was in your place before. Ignore those people. The band does work and I had surgery April 17th. I've had 3 fills and am at 4.5cc. Since the last fill, I've lost 10 lbs. I was frustrated too but once you get more you'll notice a huge difference. Hang in there. Contine to go to the gym and try to eat under your calorie goal. Believe me that it helps and once you get more fills youll be glad you stuck with te rules.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
