Water Intake Am I Drinkin Too Much At Once

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone I'm 11 days post op and I'm doing pretty well no issues with eating or drinking I'm on mushies so I've been doing puréed and drinking fluids and hour after and before...my question is how much Fluid is normal between meals like at one time..I sip sip sip no gulping or anything like that but I feel like I can drink alot of liquid is that okay? I just finished off 10oz of Water in a few minutes sipping I haven't had any pain or uncomfortable feelings doing this but I'm wondering If I would be doing damage to my pouch...water should slide through If I'm correct???

Hi Sabrina, I am not banded yet and hope I can continue to drink the Water. Its really the only thing I drink and I drink lots of it about a gallon and half a day. I don't drink teas or coffees or even juices, just Water. You think with all that water I drink I wouldn't be this heavy, LOL.

Hopefully someone who has been banded can answer this for you but so far it sounds like you are doing really great with the band!

I don't think Water would do any damage. Sounds like you are doing ok. I'm 5 days post op, trying my hardest to get fluids down too. If anything, I may be having too little, because I can't quickly down a water bottle anymore. The nurse told me 64oz a day is good amount. I'm aiming for 6-8oz in a sitting.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
