5Cc's And Have A Terrible Pain When I Eat Certain Things

Recommended Posts

Got my third fill last week and now have 5cc's in my band. Things I was eating with no problem like angel hair Pasta now feel stuck and it hurts like crazy for a few minutes. Will this go away or should I avoid the foods that hurt all together?

I am just now at 5.5cc and I was banded in December, 2010... Took the slow road in my journey. Pasta, bread, white rice, dry chicken is not a part of my diet. I think I'm in the green Zune now...but I really have to chew 25-30 times and take it slower. I'm really learning the importance if Protein too. Good luck.

Yes! Avoid those foods all together. Listen to your band . These foods can cause you great complications if you throw them up on a regular basis. You can cause a slip. You can also learn to eat around your band allowing yourself to continue forcing your "stuck" foods down which wouldnt make the band as effective as it should be! The pain i get with stuck foods is VERY UNPLEASENT and not even worth eating to me. I stay away from them.

I just got my second fill to 4cc and have found that cheap, doughy breads are out. I had some yesterday and had a minor stuck episode as well as the slow going down pain. I was excited to know the band was working :)

What does your pain feel like? I ate something yesterday and my back and chest hurt for hours.

If you're having pain from those foods, you just may need to chew them more or take even smaller bites of them. However as mentioned, some foods may just be too difficult for you now. You'll have to try things and see.

I am at restriction. The only foods I have trouble with are cheap doughy bread and raw carrots. I can eat rice, Pasta I just don't like them that much so I don't bother. I do eat baked chicken breast no problem (have it twice a day).

I was in so much pain for a couple of hours last night. I am scared to eat anything. What is restriction?

The pain feels like something is stuck right above my band forcing its way down. It only lasted a few minutes but i bunched over in pain and it was terrible. Today I was fine and had no problems. I have had no restriction before this fill and could basically eat anything and did not pay much attention to chewing. Now I guess I have a bit of restriction which is great but I have to pay more attention to the chewing and when a food gets stuck I think I will just avoid it. I do not eat bread but had no problem with angel hair Pasta before this fill. I guess it is hard to chew because it is so fine. Thanks for all the input.

This happens to me a lot! I am struggling with choosing the right foods to eat. It seems like just about anything causes that stuck feeling resulting in the severe chest pain. Unfortunately, I have had to bring foods up several times :( I was banded on March 5, 2012 and I am still trying to figure out the smaller bites, chew, chew, chew method. I find it easier to just eat soup!

Yes that feeling is caused by restriction in your band. Take your time and chew small bites. It has happened to me several times and I have to remind myself to slow down.

My hardest issue is chewing. I am not used to chewing my foods till they arw liquids. It has grossed me out some.

Like someone said I find it easier to eat Soup.< /p>

Yes, Soup is easier because it's liquid and just slides in. However, to truly utilize our bands, we have to get used to eating and really chewing the solids, to give us nutrition and keep us full for longer. It's definitely an adjustment but I think you'll find it'll really help the hunger and the weight loss!

If you guys are feeling that restricted, you're way too tight and need Fluid taken out of your band. Just a smidge will make a huge difference! Turkey and fish are my Protein favs! When my band was too tight, I was get severe heartburn from things like cauliflower or broccoli and would make myself sick as opposed to feeling that pain in my shoulder. A key for me is my nose...when it starts to run...that's my sign to stop eating because my tummy is full to the brim.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
