I have a general question I wanted to know if sugar free cake with sugar free frosting is ok to have (1 piece) It's mother day this weekend and i am baking this sugar free cake for someone special and wanted to know if this was ok to have. Just a piece of it though.

I am 30 post op and have not had my fill yet.

Any cake is fine to have. The thing is to remember moderation and only have it occasionally.

Sure. Just treat it like any other calories. Also, I read a study that said people eat 35% more of something when they view it as "low cal".

Eat cake:) is what I say!!!

Recently I told my nutritionist (after losing 8.5 lbs in 6 weeks) that I ate cake the day before. She said "you're not supposed to tell me that". I said "but, it was my birthday". She said "oooookay".

Every now and then is okay, every day is what got me so overweight!

So small minded. Yes I am going to have cake on my birthday. Having a small dessert once every couple months is not what not me here. Eating a whole cake in a couple days, or half a box of Enter mans donut holes in one setting is what got me here. If you turn a party dessert into a food habit that you now est every that's a problem.

Congrats on having your surgery :D Hope you are doing well. pillsbury is the one that has the sugar free cake and frosting :) I made the cake earlier today and it was so good I actually prefer this over any other cake now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
