Bandiversary Today, But Dr Wants To Take It Out ) =

Recommended Posts

Hi judych'

My surgeon went in and adjusted my band surgically. He did not have to replace my existing band. He had orginally taken all fill out which will, at times, let the band readjust itslf. But mine did not, so he had prepared for the worst, which was to replace it But, when he got in the operation, he just had to readjust it. Hope that explains it. ;-) Karen

thanks Karen... how is it all going with you now?? Im having difficulty with meats since my first fill. i had 3ccs into an empty band about ten days ago.

I am doing good. I have no trbl but obviously watch everything I put into my mouth. My surgeon tells me I am in the "green zone". I have gained some, but am holding now. I want to loose what I gained but he won't do it with any fill as any tighter, it would not go down, as barium needed Water help! So. it is all will power for me now. I am still walking at least 45-60 minutes a day. I am whole lot healthier than when I started, let me tell you. Only one getting winded in my walks, now, is my grand daughter who sometimes ventures on Grandma's walks. ;-) Take care, I hope that your results are what you are looking for. Karen

thanks Karen.. i hope our results are what we are looking for as well. YOu are doing so well. Walking for that long every day is wonderful. Somethings wrong here with me, im so distracted and on the go most days its hard to fit a walk in. My dr said that i was getting enough exercise anyway.. i hope he is right. Well... last week we pulled up carpet from our loungeroom... six quares worth. lol. that was a major undertaking. then i was in the city with our son, helping out with you can guess... just everything had been put on hold for me for when i visited. lol. that lasted three days. now home this weekend im cooking, cleaning ,picking up after, washing for two men and believe me they are untidy. They think they live in the bush.. lol. So, at the moment i am getting enough exercise. i would like to be able to just have a leisurely paced walk now and again though . Perhaps in spring. we have winter here right now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
