Did A Very Bad Thing

Recommended Posts

i weighed myself this evening just to see my progress bc i have been working out so hard and eating good but boy ol boy did i get a rude awaken, such a big disappointment (5lbs wt gain), hoping some of that is from the bloatness of my TOM, i am so stupid for doing that

I won't go near a scale at night and definitely not during my TOM. Even though I know I'll weight more at both, it's not worth the mental damage it does seeing those numbers go up.

I weigh myself once a week first thing in the morning. It's best for my mental health :)

I bet if you weigh in the morning before eating or drinking you will find you weigh much less. I only weigh in the morning, never evening as the weight from drinking fluids and such will make it look like you gained.

I can't see that you did a bad thing. If you have been eating well and exercising, then you are doing all the right things. Sounds like it was just TOM and time of day that have affected the scales.

hang in there and keep up the good work.

thanks ladies, i definitely wont do that again, it is very hard on the mental health, i knew better but did it anyways, when i first started on this journey the weight seemed to drop so easy but now after losing 40lbs i am at a stopping point & have been for several months, i have 5.75cc in my band, i have 40lbs left to loose coming up on my 1yr bandiversary, i just want to hit goal

I have always been bad about weighing. I weigh in the morning and at night. I dont know why!! Ive tried to break myself but cant do it.

Anyway, ive will always weigh about 2 to 3 lbs heavier at night and I will almost always gain 2 to 4 lbs during TOM. And it will take me about week to lose that again. I just finished on monday and I am finally almost down to before I started. its crazy. I feel like I have to start over after every period!! uggg

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
