Joh 0 Posted March 3, 2006 New here but not new to the information. I have been looking into the lap-band surgery now for well over 4 months. I have a BMI of 39.3 and no co-morbities that I know of as of yet, well cept the knee pain I get when going up and down the stairs more than usual. So far that I know about my insurance is that I will have to have a 12 month supervised diet. I felt totally let down when I heard this and was going to just forget about the whole thing. And of course I gained a few more pounds since then (comfort eating). Then I thought, what is 12 months?? And then sometimes I think 12 months is going to take forever to get here, but too bad, I gotta do this! So on March 8th I got see my PCP to get the ball rolling. No one said I have to actually follow the diet right?!?! :lalala: So here's to getting my Lap-Band next year!! Joh

paula 4 Posted March 3, 2006 Joh, You have ANY idea how FAST a year goes by? Yesterday I was wrapping Christmas presents, and today my kids are singing, "Here comes Peter Cotten Tail". Just take it one day at a time. Days turn into weeks... turns into months - then BAM! Its time. Just do lots of reading on LBT so nothing is a shock for you. Good luck - and God bless!
