Calories Per Day When You Are Eating "normal" Foods/

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am interested in the calorie count when eating so called normal foods.

I am keeping a food journal and I wanted to see what others are doing as far as calories.

I have been doing less then 1000 calories a day and I am 3 weeks out

Thanks

Hmmm... Not sure, but here's what I had today so far...

Breakfast

Protein Shake - 170cal

lunch

2oz-ish grilled salmon - abt 100cal

3 artichoke hearts - abt 90cal

4-5 thin apple slices - abt 15cal

also a couple of calcium chews - 30cal

Total so far is around 400... I figure I'll probably have a dinner something like lunch... So figure I'm getting around 600-800 a day?

Hello,

I have been banded for a year and a half. On a typical day I eat about 1600 calories. Like today I had scrambled eggs with milk and cheese. I am getting ready to eat a lean cuisine and then for dinner I eat what family eats for dinner, but I always eat the meat first, then veggies then carbs. I also eat two Snacks a day which are usually either a Protein Shake or a cheese stick. I work out 5x a week two hours a day so I need to consume more calories. When you workout with less than sufficient calories your body burns fat and muscle which if you are trying to increase your metabolism is not a good thing.

So IF I am 3 weeks ouut..have not been filled and I am struggling to get the caloiries about or at 1000..I am getting in on average 600-700 calories.

I have also found eating even soft food(eggs) in the morning hurts me...my back and chest have pressure and this lasted for a couple hours.

So I am thinking no fill for me till I can get the feeling of hunger and also the lack of pain on eating simple soft foods...

I am going to start a protien shake in the mornings to see if that will not create the pain

I'm 3 weeks out and I'm averaging about 1200 cals per day. I'm using My Fitness Pal to keep track.

But I'm getting hungrier everyday, scheduled for my first fill next Tuesday and I think I need it.

No exercise yet either :(

I'd say you have restriction. In fact you may need to have some Fluid taken out, if there is any in there? I have heard others say that morning time is the hardest time for them to eat. so yes, you may have less pain with Protein Shake in the AM.

Hang in there!

MY doctor stated that he did not place any saline in the band during surgery...I did read the operative report and it is noted that he "primed" the band...what does this mean?

Thanks

I was never good at tracking my foods so I just try to eat as little as possible everyday. I am not suggesting this is for everyone. There are days that I really eat a lot and days when I eat very little. I have kept 125 pounds off for 4 years.

My doc said the same. Priming usually means filling all the tubing with saline, getting the air out. He then said it was primed w/ 2cc. So... I figure I'll get more info out of the nurse next week.
