How often do you go back for fills? If you are super filled, you may wish to request an upper GI to check for pouch dilation.

On the behavior/psychological side: are you stressed, depressed, etc? I was not successful until I started seeing a therapist to help me work through extreme stress due to work and my mothers cancer. I even did Prozac for a while and that actually helped me lose weight. Usually has opposite side effect.

Logistic things: start using my fitness pal now. Track everything you put in your body. I have a high stress job that is unpredictable at best. So I carry emergency rations of food I can keep at roon temperature and is palatable. Protein shakes are great if you can keep in cooler throughout day between meals. This helps me when I'm wanting crappy food I like to eat.

Food wise: reduce bread/pasta/ carb intake to as low a level as you can tolerate. Start each meal with veggies, then do Protein and then have a little bit of carbs. There is science behind not having that initial insulin rush. Not that I understand it at all.

Hope this helps. I have my bad days too, trust me.

How many fills and have you spoken to the nutritionist? Seems like your Dr and his staff should have a lot of insight on why you aren't losing?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
