How Much Fill Do You Have And What Kind Of Band Do You Have

Recommended Posts

and are you at your sweet spot??

I have noticed that the Realize band may take more of a fill then the Allergen band. I'm a bit worried since I have 6.5 cc's in my realize band and I know I could still use a bit more. Not sure if its 1cc or .5 etc but I know I could use something where I have seen people with other bands hitting goad with 3 or 5 cc's in there band...

Just wondering..... I know we are all different, etc... I go for another fill on Monday. I'm only 9 weeks out and doing great but just wondering....

I have 4 cc in a 14 cc Allergan band. THis is after only one fill, he had put 2cc in during surgery. I am not at a sweet spot yet, but have success with small meals and staying for for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours.

I have an 11cc Realize band. I'm 5 months out and at my last fill went from 5.5cc's to 7cc. I'm feeling that this may be the green zone. funny.. I didn't think I would ever say that! Just remember that everyone is different.

I may try for .5cc's more at my next appt. I can eat most everything except bread, dry meat and have to chew like crazy. I usually feel full after about a cup of food.. some days its more, some days it's less.

It's so exciting getting to this point. I haven't lost much weight since being banded and have been super frustrated, but now it's really starting to work!

Good luck! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
