I was banded 4/27 and started my Soups and purses on Friday. My hubby and toddler had red Beans and rice for dinner. I put some of the beans into the food processor and had those for dinner but now I'm wondering if that's ok or if I messed up big time?!?!

For me refried Beans are on the mushie stage so I don't think you messed up big time if you kept them moist. My only concern might be that they are higher in Fiber than you are used to at this point, but maybe that is actually a good thing!

The only thing that might happen is that they could give you gas which might be uncomfortable, other than that I don't see an issue

If you are in the puree stage then yes puree those been's, my doctor said no lumps chunks or bumps he has people puree everything down to enchiladas .... I put re fried been ,onions .green enchilada sauce, avocado, cheese and puree.... That tasted so good and satisfying yes alittle gas but helps with bowl movements as well, call your doc and make sure these thing r good for u during your puree time. happy eating ...

I had refried Beans at that point and was fine. After all that liguid for so long it actually was my saving grace to staying full longer and the grumpies went away. I had to cater a sweet 16 B-day party that day for a friend of mine and luckily it was a Mexican Buffet:) I did take a beno prior to eating the beans though, just incase.

Blended Wendys Chili is good to. Looks terrible but it wonderful as long as you can handle a little spice. Seems tlike it brings the spices out more when it is blended down to baby food.< /em>

Are you at mushies? I would not have been allowed blended Beans until week 3 or 4.

I have heard a lot of people having chili. I'm not allowed red meat for approx 6 months. Anyone else have this restriction?

If you blend red meat up that is in the chili, it shouldn't be an issue. It's pretty much baby food at that point. I think what they meant was the consistancy more that the meat itself matters at that stage.

Beans have been my go too food. The are filling even when I measure them out in my 4 oz allotment. They are good for you also. Just remember something that I failed to do a couple of times is still chew chew chew even if it is beans.

I had refried Beans the first couple of days I was able to eat pureed foods with no problems, but I'm currently sticking to scrambled eggs with tuna topped with melted cheese.< /p>
