KristinsMommy 145 Posted May 6, 2012 I am new here. I found this forum a while ago when I was still researching the lap band. I have been reading ever since. it is very informative and I finally decided to join a few days ago. I still debated whether or not I was going to post or just read. I decided wth I'll just post. so here's my story : I've struggled with weight my entire life. I have tried every diet and failed miserably. In Januray of 2011 I decided it was time for a change. I joined the gym and started eating right. By March I was down 40lb. I was 196 . I couldn't remember the last time I was under 200. In April I found out I was expecting my first child. with the pregnancy I gained 74 lbs and fell back into old eating habits again. My daughter is now four months old (and she is such a joy:))and I am 264 and 5'6. I find myself struggling so hard getting this weight off. I've tried everything. I have been researching the lap band since 2011 and now I am finally getting serious about it. I know it's not a magic fix and it's a tool. I know that I will be able to use this tool to change my life. I have the will power and the determination to lose this weight and become healthy. My goal weight would be 150-160. I went to the seminar may 2nd. My first appointment with the nutritionist is May 17 and my consultation with the doctor and his team is May 18th! I excited and ready to start this journey! Welcome to the forum! I also was "ghosting" on this forum for many months prior to making the commitment to lap band surgery, and finally joining. There are many members who are quite knowledgeable about the band, nutrition, the surgery, and just about all the other topics you can imagine. The decision to make major changes in your lifestyle is the important first step in the "journey" to better health...and every journey begins with the first step. Keep us posted on your progress!
