Lilygirl40 3 Posted May 4, 2012 has anyone experienced their gall bladder going wonky after lap banding? April 4th my gall bladder went bad and i had to spend three days in the hospital fighting the infection/recovering from surgery and then another five days fighting the pnuemonia it caused. Now, my stomach only feels better when there is food in it. Like it is digesting all the time and only feels better when I eat, which defeats the whole purpose of having a lap band!!! Any thoughts/suggestions?

honk 780 Posted May 7, 2012 Sorry to hear of your problems. Twenty years a go after loosing 100 pounds I had to have my gall bladder removed. Did not have the problems you are having. I did experinence phantom gall bladder pains after it had been removed in the middle of the night right at the end of PMS. Not sure if it was a hormonal thing or what. Eventually they went away. I did get one of those pains about a month or so after banding. Again at night (can't remember about the PMS).
dianalyn 11 Posted May 26, 2012 pre op tests found gallstones. I have opted to have the gallbladder removed first, this will delay my lapband to the first of August.
honk 780 Posted May 27, 2012 Try to remove all fat from your diet. Not sure why but the gall bladder deals with digesting fat. When you eat fat the gall bladder goes NUTS and that is what causes the pains.
