I am almost 2 weeks post op & today I'm HUNGRY! The past few days I've been hungry often, but I could eat a 1/2 cup of Soup & be satisfied for a few hours. This morning I ate a bowl of oatmeal & after I finished I still felt hungry. Not getting a fill until May 24....guess it's time for will power to kick in! Anyone else experiencing this?

That is VERY common. I did not feel restriction until my 3rd fill. This is normal as well as actually gaining a few pounds until you start feeling restriction. Dont get discouraged, you will get there, it just takes time

I had my surgery on 4/24/2012 and I can tell a difference now from the first week. The first weekl I would really be full and not able to eat any more that the 4 0z serving now I am able to eat the 4 oz serving plus, I have been exercising my will power and trying to get in all of my Water. I'll pray for us both until we can get that first fill -:)

I guess I was hearing the words of my mother in my head...."eat oatmeal, it'll stick to your insides & keep you full longer." I guess that's not really the case! Next time I'll search for something with more protein!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
