Paulax 8 Posted March 2, 2006 I asked here who has had their band for a long time, this board was started a few years ago, so there are some bands here that were placed 3 - 4 years ago. I still want to know of any cases where the band has been in place for 10 years +. I want to know about long term weight maintenance and long term effects of having the band in place. One thing that does make me feel good about having this devise for a lifetime, is that it is made from the same material as any other implanted device. Sunta 5 Posted March 2, 2006 You might try looking on any UK message boards if you can find them. The band has been approved in the UK since 1993, so there must be people who have had it there for over ten years. Here in the states, the band has only been approved since 2001, so until 2011 you're out of luck! Let me know if you find anything as I have been interested in finding this too.
