I eat it with no problem. Depending on what I am making, I will use either 4% or 10% hamburger..

I can eat a burger, but I've only got 3.75 cc in my band. I think it varies based on your band adjustments

There isn't much I can't eat. I do have a problem with snow peas, even if I destring them. And I avoid most steaks except for filet mignon at home.

Ground beef is pretty much the only type of beef I can eat. It has to be in chili, Soup, taco salad and other ways like that. I can not just eat a hamburger patty.

I can eat it fine...but easier ground up vs a hamburger. But, I think the reason there is it is easier to take a small bite with a fork, versus a bite!

I can eat Ground beef/Ground Turkey with no problems. I cannot eat chicken though. Every time I eat chicken, by the 2nd bite, I am miserable and end up throwing it up. I stick to ground turkey since its much lower in fat and calories and in general healthier for you (Plus, at the stores around me, its actually quite a bit cheaper than the lean ground beef)

I have been scared to try chicken or beef.. I have been sticking to fish. I love baked and grilled salmon.

I do eat ground beef, but I also get it at a local meat cutting shop, so it's almost gristle free, very high end beef....got it for 2.20 per pound. I was able to pan cook and grill it. Just chew really well and small bites, I even cook it a little pinker.

well, my experience was .... my first solid Protein was fish... not successful at all. then i tried beef burgers, thin and no herbs or onions etc. it was beautiful. no problems at all with it.... so it was successful with me. the fish is more of a problem. perhaps im not cooking it right?? i did poach it but it was very dry i thought.. and yuk. anyway the burgers were great, but as i said, they were just plain beef, nothing added at all.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
