Scared To Gain Weight....

Recommended Posts

I know that may sound stupid, but i'm scared to give my clothes away, thinking that I might gain back one day. Should I give them or not, what you think? I lost 40 pounds in 2 months, i have a lot of things too big for me now....!

Be positive! Get rid of them. I have so many sizes in my closet. Have given away the size 20 & 18. I feels great!

I struggled with the same thing, in fact I felt more comfortable in my huge clothes than I did clothes that actually fit.

But then I realized by hanging onto them, I was unintentionally jinxing myself into failure. So, I despite how anxiety ridden it made me, I bought new clothes and threw out all but one pair of pants that were too big. I kept the one pair to remind me how far I've come and how I don't want to ever fit into them again.

Btw... by the time I finally got clothes, I was down 75 pounds and had lost 4 sizes. LOL needless to say, I was WAY past due!!

Throw away the old too big clothes, believe in yourself that you'll never need them again.

I hear ya about that....I've been on so many diets over the past 15 years, and up and down in weight. I would say, get rid of the things that are really big (maybe keep one pair of pants so you can see how far you've come!). This band is the last time for losing! Don't be afraid to give them away!

Throw out those clothes. DO IT. It is very liberating!

It also prevents you accidentally throwing on the wrong thing when in a hurry and having to spend the entire day hanging on to your pants! LOL.

I agree - THROW THEM AWAY!!! Or better yet, give them away to another bandster. I gave away all of my 3x clothes over a yr ago and my 12/14's just last month to someone on here. I plan on never wearing those sizes again. I fit into a 7/8 bottoms now and have some size 10's that are cute - that I just wear a belt with. Those are fine but anything bigger and I get rid of it. I should have kept a size 22 jeans and 3x tops tho - just so I can compare how far I've come - but I forgot and got rid of all of them. keep one or 2 outfits so u can do the before and after pics with them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
