When I tell those closest to me about my plans to be Banded to gain better health and stop the express train to Type 2 Diabeties .............. this is what I hear........

I hear from the female friends are things like "Good for you" "Yayaya", "Good Luck", etc.

The Males however always say "I hope you find it's worth the risks" and "You know your boobs will shrink"

Oh Males you silly creatures.... Big boobs = Huge Butt I'd like to be healthy and not worry about Boobs

LOL...Stumbled upon this string and couldn't help myself. Bayougirl, I had to check out the 36ff's. I guess I fall into the same category as the OCLady friends. And thanks to Bayougirl for posting all those pictures. Most banders don't do that and I so want to see how well others are doing with the band. It's inspirational.

But, I checked out my own boobs and I'm only down about 23 lbs but I think they're smaller. But that's a good thing right?

lol.... you guys are great.... thanks for the nice words.... they do mean a lot.

If i would have known then what i know now.... i would have had the breast reduction and lift when i had the Tummy Tuck.... 11 weeks ago. And what i mean by that is.... if i would have know the pain was going to be that minimal... i would have done both at the same time.

Went bathing suit shopping and still can find anything large enough in "regular" stores to fit them. I tried on top after top and boobie-spillage... every where... was not pretty site.... So now i have to travel an hour and a half to a special store in Mandeville, la to buy a top to go with my new bikini ....... that i will be wearing in public this summer.... for the first time in over 20 years..... i'm so proud of me... i know that sounds bad... but i really am. Everyone should feel this great about them selves and do what ever they have to to feel amazing.

WE ALL DESERVE IT.....

Well from north of 365 (probably closer to 385) gone from a 52D/DD (just my size) to

42 D (playtex which run larger so probably a DD in other brands). So not a whole lot of shrinkage here!

When i had my TT 12 weeks ago they took out all my fill, so i went 8 week with out anything, now i have 5cc, but i need another 5 to get me back not eating all the bad stuff i can eat right now. I was down to 139, now i'm at 144. I need to get my a$$ back into the gym.... crap just keeps coming up. Wish i was a morning person...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
