Do I Need Lipilsuction On Top Of Tt?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I am looking to get a TT done but don't know how it all works. Can some one kindly educate me on what I need and how much am I expected to spend and or will insurance cover it without having the rashes?

If surgery covers anything, it usually will cover the skin removal but not an actual Tummy Tuck. The only time I've heard of a full TT being covered was when it was medically necessary to reconstruct the abdominal muscles.

Every insurance carrier is different, so the only way you'll know is by contacting yours and asking them.

Good luck.

ok... NY... i just updated my story, so i copied and pasted this.

Yesterday was my 11th week post op from my Tummy Tuck/Lipo. Went in for my Free consultation in January. Dr. said that because i was a few pounds from being in the normal BMI range and because i had a stable weight for more than six months, i was an excellent candidate for a Tummy Tuck. Said that he could tell that i had been working out and that my muscle tone was pretty good. My problem area was the lower stomach. After two c-sections, hysterectomy, gallbladder and LB.... my stomach was shot. He said he could give me great results... so on February 15th I went in. All fill was removed from my LB and surgery lasted two hours, i stayed over night with a morphine pump. Incision is from hip to hip with a down-word dip. He pulled down the top part of my stomach, re-positioned my port, tightened up the stomach musicle, pulled up from the bottom (about 2-3lbs of skin removed). Lipo'ed on the back, sides and hips (one liter of fat removed). Stitched the inside and glued the outside. No drain tubes. Went home with percocets and lovonox injections. Pain meds as needed and injections twice a day to prevent blood clots. FYI... they burn like fire.... My wonderful Daughter in law (LPN) came twice a day to give them to me. Had my BFF stay with me for the first couple nights then i was on my own. Slept in my comfy recliner for the first few night. My hubby was working. He was able to be with me the day of, but had to leave the next day. By day three I was walking down the block and back.... and at day 12 i went back to work. Took me a few more weeks before i was walking like a "normal" person. Swelling, numbness, and tightness is still around but the pain was gone by day 3-4. Pain was what i equated to my C-sections. Hurt to cough or laugh, but other than that it was not bad at all. At about week 8 thought i was super-woman and was doing too much and popped one of my inside stitches. I felt when it happen. Because the outside was glued, it didn't open. But Fluid built up and because it was right on my hip bone, i developed a skin ulcer. It opened, but with antibiotics and antibiotic cream, it is healing very well and the rest of the scar is also. Total cost for doctor with all follow up and hospital with over night stay..... out of pocket (insurance would not cover) $8800..... and worth every cent....!!!! :)

Lipo depends on how much fat you still have. I had a Tummy Tuck considered medically necessary - it was to fix damage done by other surgeries Ive had in the last two years, but I had a flat stomach and a BMI of 21. The surgeon I was referred to was a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, botox, lipo, fillers, all that stuff is not his thing, and my surgery was covered by our public health system here, so lipo was not on offer for me.

Let me tell you, BMI of 21 or not, I wish I'd had some and I still might. My tummy is beautiful, but the love handles on my sides and lower back - still there. The saddlebags on my thighs - still there. In fact both look more pronounced now as my stomach is so perfect.

I suspect there's very few people who couldnt benefit from a little lipo fine tuning at the time of a tummy tuck.

Hi,

Like Jachut said, I think it will depend on your body. The Dr. gave me guidance when I went for my operation.

i had a TT and breast lift. He did Lipo on the sides of my thighs. i will say... post op... the lipo hurt. it was a weird feeling...like a burning. it wasnt constant pain.... came and went for weeks.

I am having my arms done in 4 weeks and will do a little lipo there too and i'm not looking forward to it. But it does make the appearance better.

Good luck in whatever you decide

Josie

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
