I am really sore too. I was home from surgery around 1pm on Thursday, slept pretty much until yesterday. I would get up, walk around the house, sip some Water and then lay back down. This morning I feel a bit better and I just drank a Protein drink hoping that will help as well. Worse than the pain for me (which seems to include my whole torso) is the dryness. My mouth, nose and throat are soooooo dry it is about to drive me crazy. One of the people on here said it was the patch for nausea that is causing most of it. I think I will try to take it off today. Have you had any other issues? I hope not. I did have a low grade fever like 99.8 but I don't seem to have that today.

Just keep telling yourself it is the first days of our new life and I am counting on what these people say about feeling great after week two. I hope so. Keep me posted on how you are doing!

Oh yes, the throat definitely hurts! My chest not so much but it does hurt in front of my shoulders. Today has been a bit better plus I took off that patch so I'm hoping I'll regain some moisture in my mouth and nose! Hope you are okay today!!!

I was surprised that I did the liquids as well as I did. I had Protein Drinks, lots of Water and in between I had crystal light....A glass in my hand from morning till night. I made my husband fix his own dinners and I stay out of sight of the food.< /em>

You'll do well just hang in there!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
