JenPea 0 Posted March 2, 2006 UGH!!!!!!!!!! I found out today that my band had not slipped. I have a constant pain in my throat. It feels like I am going to gag or my throat has a huge lump of something stuck in it. So I found out today that my body is just really sensitive to the band and I can feel it. And that this pain is not going to go away. And I am just going to have to learn to deal with this anoying knot in my throat at all times. I have no plans to have the band removed, but if I ever have to it will be a happy day for my throat. But a sad day for my buttox Jen
Dawn NH 0 Posted March 2, 2006 Jen, I am glad that the band did not slip, but sorry to hear that this is your body's reaction to the band. Did they say if it would get better? I hope it does so you do not have pain all the time. dawn
JenPea 0 Posted March 2, 2006 They said it wasn't going to get better. But I can kind of control it by what I eat. It's also better if I have food in my band rather then an empty stomach. Jen
Rebeccalee 2 Posted March 2, 2006 Jen, what was the diagnosis or did the doc say? Do you have a fill? I ask because I have problems with my esophagus, but they are better under some conditions. I've been banded for over a year and a half.
katerzz 4 Posted March 2, 2006 What size band do you have? Maybe the option is putting in a larger band instead of taking it out.. this journey isnt supposed to be miserable. I had an artery that was backwords.... caused me great pain and issues (couldnt get even Water down) thank goodness i had such a great surgeon who caught what the problem was. JenPea 0 Posted March 2, 2006 I am 5 weeks out and don't get my first fill until next week! =) Today the pain is A LOT better still noticable but not anoying. You know I don't even know what size band I have. I will ask next week when I go in. I feel like I have to put the pros and cons on paper and compare losing weight one one side and on the other an anoying knot in my throat. I need this band. It by far is the best thing I have ever done for "me" jen
DeLarla 22 Posted March 2, 2006 Jen, did your docs say the problem might get better as you lose weight? I have issues with lumps in my throat, too. But it was much worse when I was heavier, and now it only bothers me when I eat too much. Let's hope you start feeling better as you melt away!

paula 4 Posted March 2, 2006 Jen, I remember feeling this after I had my 2 fills. Went away after a week or 2. Nothing like 5 or 6 weeks... that could drive someone insane - feeling like they are always being choked! Come to think of it, I dont know if it ever went away - or if I just got used to it.... ??? :phanvan
