I got my band March 30th....everything went well. I got my first fill April 27th....

I am feeling nothing in terms of restriction...I know that I will need a few more fills until I get to the green zone.

Would love to hear stories of those of you, that lost no weight the first two months until you got proper restriction and than started losing weight like crazy....

I am so discouraged, disappointed and kind of angry that I've lost 0 pounds-but have gone through surgery and paid 16k....it's depressing. I know that I have to be patient...blah blah blah....but it's still hard.

So any success stories are welcome :)

How many years were u overweight but u cant wait a few months to start losing ? restriction /green zone will come when your fills start kicking in, believe me for you not to put on weight during this time is a feat in itself. I am sure u were told this isnt a fast track weight loss solution so stop being so hard on your self and look forward to a healthier life without putting weight back on :)

Here's some hope for u: I got my band 2 1/2 yrs ago Nd the first 5time mths (till my 3rdlast fill) I lost about 5the lbs. I could eat like I could before the band. After the 3rd fill, I literally started melting the pounds off. I've now lost 102 lbs with about 10 left I thought I had failed yet another weight loss attempt and regretted my decision to even have it. Then it started working and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

Yes, there's lots of us out there that it took a while to see results. Good luck to u

Marci

I had almost no restriction and very little weight loss until fill #4. Only 10 pounds in first 5 months. Then I started losing. Have lost 28 pounds since then - which has brought me to a BMI of 24.9. I lost a lot of weight before surgery. Perhaps you are on a plateau, as I was. Don't worry, the band will help you break it. Until then don't stop Protein Shakes.< /p>

i can relate because sometimes im impatient too, i want everything yesterday ! but i also understood that this was a daily journey to get to my goal, and like any journey sometimes i was going to go forwards, backwards, or not move at all. but thats all a learning experiance that wont show up on your scale, but is important nonetheless. You WILL get to your goal if you follow your Drs orders about exercise, food choices , etc. it just takes TIME............................ so be patient and when you finally get restriction you be happier, but in the meantime just stick with the rules and try not to measure your sucesses by the scale. sometimes sucesses can come in many different forms, like too tight pants that suddenly fit, not getting winded as much, being able to paint your own toenails( my tummy is shrinking !) etc...........good luck !

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
