It's normal to be tired after surgery. They have given you an anaesthetic, cut you open, moved bits around, inserted something that wasn't there before and then stitched you up again. On top of this because it was bariatric surgery you are on a restricted diet which also has an effect.

So remember to be kind to yourself. Rest and don't try to run any marathons yet!

I was banded 4/20, started work last Weds and all I could do is go to work and then come home to bed. Yesterday was the first day I didn't fall asleep when I got home from work. It will come, take it easy.

The energy will come back. Your body just needs time to heal.Rest and take care of yourself. This is one time that it is perfectly okay to be completely selfish! In just a few days, your energy level will be back to normal and then some. Hang in there!

I'm two weeks post op today and my energy level is pretty normal. It probably was a few days ago. Advancing my diet from clears to mushys really helped me. And healing, giving it time did too I'm sure. Hang in there, you'll be feeling better soon

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
