kah1213 311 Posted April 30, 2012 question for those who have already been banded...I'm starting with a BMI of approx 34 and I want to get to a BMI of 22-24. so, that's about 60-70 lbs. what has your experience been with the pace of the weight loss?
JennyBee 340 Posted April 30, 2012 It's veeeeeeerrrrryyy slow. I started w/bmi of 30, and have only lost 18 lbs since February 14th. Seems like nothing compared to others that have lost 30-40lbs that were banded around the same time I was:) It is slower for low bmi-ers. We will get there! Slowly but surely. I need to lose 30 more to get to my goal of 115!!
kah1213 311 Posted April 30, 2012 Congrats! 18 lbs isn't too shabby either! Have you have a couple fills?
JennyBee 340 Posted April 30, 2012 Hi Kah... As a matter of fact I had my 2nd fill today at 4:00. I now have 5cc in my band. Hopefully I will feel some restriction with this one:) up to now I have none whatsoever! If I let myself I could totally pig out:)
Lluna 14 Posted April 30, 2012 My surgery was 8/19/11 with a BMI of 35 and a weight of 248, as of today I'm down almost 70 lbs.
JennyBee 340 Posted April 30, 2012 Go girl! Lluna that's awesome!!! How many Cc's in ur band? Do u have good restriction?
kah1213 311 Posted April 30, 2012 Could u really eat anything without the fills/restriction? I thought there was some slight restriction after the surgery even without a fill?
JennyBee 340 Posted April 30, 2012 Yes, I could definitely eat anything and I sure have to this point:)
kah1213 311 Posted May 1, 2012 Wow Jenny so u basically lost almost 20lbs on your own! Amazing. Any secrets to share? Lol
JennyBee 340 Posted May 1, 2012 It's been super hard.. A lot of will power and just the thought that I payed $10,000 out if pocket keeps me motivated! Lol One if my little tricks is buying little 1/2 cup tupperwares, i only eat what it can hold, for example I'll fill 1 with tuna and one with black beans/red beans/or chickpeas.. I'll take both little 1/2 cups to work and that's my 1 cup lunch. I need to get exercising though. It's my weakness. So when were u banded? What has bend your progress do far? 2 thomaar and missmudd reacted to this

kah1213 311 Posted May 1, 2012 I'm scheduled to be banded May 30. Going to start tapering my diet next week (less calories/more protein) and then 1 day of liquids before surgery...then 2 weeks liquids after. I'm sorta having my last hurrah right now if you know what I mean!
