Hey people,

Im steph and new to this forum!

I was banded in 2009' July 14/16 something like that.

I was just 18!! Now 20!

I am at the tightest my band has ever been and I just wanted to see how other people were going?

I use to weight 120-125kg now I weight 108-110.

I know not that great but looking at lower numbers on this fill as I can barely eat a thing!

I play sport twice a week and I need to either find something else to do physical wise.

I don't drink, try and eat as healthy as possible.

I had a mishap from oct 2011-dec 2011.( fell pregnant) decided not to keep it but it effected me in he process.

I've only just starte going back for check ups and seeing doctors.

I had a mishap with them throughout the yr of 2011 and only came back when I fell pregnant.

So I'm back on track now and I can barely eat a thing.

I needed to see if there is a way to eat veggies without them getting stuck.

This is my main problem.

If someone has any advice please let me know.

I tried fulfill meals and Optifast shakes. Fulfil meals are to hard to go down and their made for lap band patience.

I have consulted with my specialist and he said to leave it cause results are presenting themselves.

But I'm buggered at work and tired and have an occasional V.

So just looking to see if anyone has some advice or wants a buddy in Sydney, Australia!

Hope to hear from people =]

Welcome, Steph. How have you been cooking your veggies? Have you tried cutting them into small pieces before cooking them, and/or mixing them with a small amount of low-fat Salad Dressing, yogurt, mayo, sour cream?

Creamed spinach, or spinach soufle works for me. Or blend your veggies in a morning shake. Or mash up some cooked peas. Steam your brocoli soft

Even steaming my veggies and even if they go soft they don't go down.

I have managed peas and corn just but that's 1 mouthful over 5-10minutes.

It takes me ages to eat. Example

I had fish and it took me 1 1/2 hours to eat and by 45 minutes I didn't wanna eat it anymore cause it was cold and hard.

I don't get much time to eat at work so I manage to snack throughout the day on what I am meant to have for lunch.

Start eating at 10am and gradually get through it.

If it was a shake I could get it down. Eventually.

I played sport on sunday and had a hard time getting Water down. So im going to try and drink Water like crazy today.

In my opinion, your band is too tight. You should not have to struggle that much to eat healthy foods, and a band that's too tight can lead to complications like a band slip, esophageal dilation, stomach dilation, or band erosion. Even a tiny unfill could make a big improvement in your quality of life without compromising your restriction.

When was your last fill? It can take up to 2 weeks to adjust to a fill, but if you're still struggling after that, it's time for an unfill. The fact that you're having some trouble even getting Water down is troubling. Call your surgeon!

2-3 weeks ago.

I saw my specialist last week and he said stay because we were getting results.

Before I was jumping up n down a few kilos once in awhile.

I was between 112-109kg.

ATM I'm at 107!

Prob less.

I haven't weighed myself since the meeting with him!

I get to see my specialist again in 29 days.

I'm not struggling as much as I had once before.

The time it happened before I got some Fluid taken out!

I was at 13.5ml/ 15!

I think!

But was super tight!

I have had veggies but not heaps.

I had my engagement party last week and had dip left over so lived off that for a week and so did the rest of the house lol!

ATM I'm just starting up sport again second week since the basketball seasons been off.

Well see how I go tonight!

Thanks for giving me your thoughts!

Ill update u soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
