I was banded in 2004..I did awsome in my first year. I lost over 100 pounds!! Yay me...BUT now its 8 years later (wow) and I have gained most of it back...I havent had a fill in a very long time. My band only holds 4cc I feel I got gipped..Most everyone I have spoke to have a 10...anyway, I need to find a Dr. In Conroe or College station to try to utilize the band that hasnt been tweeked in a couple years!! Does anybody know of one that is not nasty when you mess up? I hate being chastized It makes me not want to go back..Thanks

I don't know of Dr's in your area, but wanted to give you some encouragement on this renewing journey :)

also, I would love the 4cc, just for the simple fact that you get restriction so much sooner. I'm looking at probably another 3 months til I am at good restriction.

I dont think larger bands were available when u had your surgery so dont be too discouraged.. You do need to find a fill doctor tho, get your band checked and launch yourself back on the bandwagon. Most of the time the reality of going back to the doctor is far worse than reality, bite the bullet and make an appointment !

Thank you so much for your reply:) I must be honest..I didnt think of having a 4 cc band in that way.I was always looking for that next fill in hopes it would pull the weight off sooner:)

Dr. Wilkenfeld is located on 242 and hwy 45 in Conroe. I go to him and they say they only charge $75 for a fill under fluoroscopy. They may offer the same thing to those who did not get surgery through them as well. It's work a phone call. Good Luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
