Food Commericals...

Recommended Posts

They just tick me off right now. ANytime I've had food restriction they've ticked me off, now they just make me mad. All those pizza hut and domino's commericals. Has anyone else experienced this.

They eat on TV Shows, then food commericals, the mail man leaves tons of food ad's instead of mail in my mailbox. I know now I will run from the border, not run for the border.

Well, that's my vent. Plus my daughter asked me, why can't you have dinner mommy, mine is so very good.

Atleast I can drive again soon. :hungry:

Ofcourse I turn the channel. Now, I'm not that much of a complainer.

I got a late start on my Protein shakes and now I gotta get the rest in before bedtime. I have one more week of shakes. Guess what! I haven't been walking as much as I should and I was reminded that I must start doing these things. I'll be at the gym tomorrow.

I have lost 12 pounds (just shocked, not bragging), My daughter threw up all the way to their door. She get's car sick and today was the day.

She kept wanting to hug me after she threw up. Yuck. No more staples either.

My daughter is currently helping one of our local state senators write up a proposal for Congress to pass a law which would ban direct to consumer drug ads. We've all seen them.. the ones that make you feel certain that whatever that mysterious drug is, it will make your life so much better - until you listen to the potential side affects which for some reason seem acceptable by the tone of the guys voice that's reading the deadly list to stupid consumers. They -must- think we are stupid to go buy that crap after hearing those side affects!

So.. I was thinking that we should write up something similar for direct to consumer food ads! They are killing Americans! Is there any wonder we are a nation of obese people?? Set an addict in a room and show him or her commercials that show people being fulfilled by using their drug of choice. Would any of them be able to quit? They took off smoking ads - why not food ads!? Jerks... how dare they shove that crap at me every 10 seconds. I don't even turn on the tv now unless it's to watch a DVD.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
