Have been banded for four yrs and went from 265 to 109 then my dr had me get some of the fill taken out because I was underweight and now I'm back up to almost 140 and I'm horrified!!!!

What is a healthy weight range for you? Maybe you should look into talking to someone about body image. I know my surgeon's office is now offering a seven week class about body image due to some concerns about these types of things.

Body composition is, IMO, a more important factor than a scale number. If you gained that much weight though, no doubt a significant part of that was fat. I would focus on your eating habits and you'll soon be back to where you feel comfortable. Go back to the basics and determine how your eating habits changed after the unfill vs before the unfill... If you find you cannot manage the hunger to keep from overeating, then it's time for a tiny fill...

I'm 5'6 but now when I look because of all the excess skin it makes me feel heavy still, I can put on my skinny jeans and still have this skin that hangs all over

This is the approximate weight they recommend for your height

Small frame: 120-133 pounds

Medium frame: 130-144 pounds

Large frame: 140-159 pounds

Your doctor took out the Fluid because he was concerned, 109 was way too thin for your height. It sounds to me like your problem at this point is your excess skin not your weight, and unfortunately no amount of being underweight is going to change that.

Have you talked to plastic surgeon about having it removed? That is what I'd do.

I stand behind finding a body image group or a psychologist to discuss this part of the journey with. You have gone from morbidly obese to unhealthily skinny- you need to find a middle ground and be satisfied with yourself.

I agree whole heartedly.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
