Passionatehrt 15 Posted April 26, 2012 Ughh Im stuffed. Was banded last Thursday...today I could start creamy Soups so tonight I had one of those Soup By The Hand in Creamy Chicken...I poured about half of it in a bowl because I think drinking soup is weird...I had about half of the bowl ( which had half in it already) and Im so full. I swear I just ate Thanksgiving dinner. It made me mad at first because it was so good... I was mad that I had to stop so soon. I also was thirsty and gulped a few ounces of skim milk with it so it filled me faster. Before I get a lot of flack...all I had today was a child size greek yogurt and about 4 oz of my Protein Shake so I was really hungry. I just cant seem to eat hardly anything since that surgery. Is this normal...It been 7 days and I can barely drink my shake anymore...I can do about 2 ounces and Im good for hours.
honk 780 Posted April 26, 2012 Just a question. Does your doctor consider yogurt the same as creamy Soup? I could have creamy soup at day 8 but it was another week before I could have yogurt. Also I thinned out the Greek yogurt at that point with fat free milk because it is really thick.
Passionatehrt 15 Posted April 26, 2012 Day three through seven I could have greek yogurt, sf Jello, sf pudding, Protein Shakes, and smoothies. Week 2-3 starts creamy Soups eventually progressing into hummus, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, and oatmeal.< /p>

It doesnt make sense though seems like with creamy Soups I'm going backwards...hmm. Anyhow it was like heaven what little I had.
NWgirl 574 Posted April 26, 2012 I wouldn't give you flack for that. It's one of those things we've all experienced. I know that I am a month out, but still play the head game with myself about wanting to eat more because I want to but not actually being hungry. My smarter side usually wins, but there have been a couple times where I feel as if I just had Thanksgiving dinner too... As for the diet, I was allowed full liquids for two weeks post-op, then to purees for one week, mushies for one week, and then soft foods with slow reintroduction of normal foods for last two weeks. On my one month post-op meeting, I was cleared to eat all foods. Full liquids for me included yogurt with no seeds/chunks, Soups with no lumps/chunks, Protein shakes, SF puddings and Jello. Sounds like you are doing good so far! Keep your head up and start working on the emotional connection with food. That has really been the hardest for me so far. Passionatehrt 15 Posted April 26, 2012 Thank you...yes certainly dealing with the emotional connection with food will be very difficult. I suppose this type of thing will happen often to me...especially at first. I was surprised on how little I can hold right now...I am assuming it's because I am only 7 days out. I would imagine by 3 weeks ago I will be able to consume more than a few ounces right?
