Parvathi 2 Posted March 11, 2006 Hey Sandra Ann, I'm having a Tummy Tuck, breast reduction and a bit of Lipo on the hips in 3 weeks. I'm paying around $14,000 out of pocket. Medicare and my private health fund are kicking in $1,781.00. I had heard that they would pay more .. a bit of a downer lol.
sandraann 0 Posted March 11, 2006 good luck with your op i would have thought the health fund would have coveredd more than that sandra..........
Chickie 15 Posted March 16, 2006 I was quoted $3800 by my band surgeon. Apparently, my health fund will cover my hospital stay, and part of the tuck. I have no idea what I will get back from Medicare, but even if I had to pay 100% of that $3800, it is still one cheap Tummy Tuck.< /p>
Fleur 0 Posted March 18, 2006 Hi Sammee, I'm interested to know who you were banded by. That seems like a great price for a TT. Regards, Fleur
Kelliebelly 13 Posted March 27, 2006 I am getting about $1500 back from medicare out of $27 000. My Dr said that if you have private cover, he would get as much as he could covered for you by way of back troubles, rashes etc for your tummy and similiar for a reduction. fee 0 Posted March 30, 2006 i got mine done 3 yrs ago and was all done under medicare:) went to a public hosp and only had to wait a cpl of weeks some docs can actually put it down as another name for the op so its covered by medicare. I have also heard on the grape vine that some lap band docs do it under medicare once you reach there goal weight:) maybe just ask your band doc
