price for TT IN aust?

Recommended Posts

Hey Sandra Ann,

I'm having a Tummy Tuck, breast reduction and a bit of Lipo on the hips in 3 weeks. I'm paying around $14,000 out of pocket. Medicare and my private health fund are kicking in $1,781.00.

I had heard that they would pay more .. a bit of a downer lol.

I was quoted $3800 by my band surgeon. Apparently, my health fund will cover my hospital stay, and part of the tuck. I have no idea what I will get back from Medicare, but even if I had to pay 100% of that $3800, it is still one cheap Tummy Tuck.< /p>

Hi Sammee,

I'm interested to know who you were banded by.

That seems like a great price for a TT.

Regards,

Fleur

I am getting about $1500 back from medicare out of $27 000. My Dr said that if you have private cover, he would get as much as he could covered for you by way of back troubles, rashes etc for your tummy and similiar for a reduction.

i got mine done 3 yrs ago and was all done under medicare:)

went to a public hosp and only had to wait a cpl of weeks

some docs can actually put it down as another name for the op so its covered by medicare.

I have also heard on the grape vine that some lap band docs do it under medicare once you reach there goal weight:)

maybe just ask your band doc

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
