My surgeon requests that patients limit their calorie intake to no more than 1400 calories per day for at least two weeks prior to surgery.

I am allowed glucerna Meal Replacements, crystal light, and broth. This has to stay at 1200 cal. for 2 weeks. It's awful! I started today. Good Luck!

My diet plan is 2 shakes a day has to be below 25 carbs, 2 cups of milk a day 2% or Skim, 1 cup of fruit juice, 3 dairy products a day to include( Light Yogurt, sugar free pudding, 1/2 cup cottage cheese) 2 fruits a day ( a small fruit or 1/2 cup canned), 2 fudge sycles (no sugar added) 2 cups of veggies a day ( can use italian dressing on these) all the Soup broth i want and all the popsycles, crystal light i want.

I know ppl keeps having issues with this diet and i know i am only on the 2 day but for me its been pretty easy. The worse part is the shakes only found one i really like alot. But the rest of the day i am eating eating eating and feel good. I hope this helped.

I was able to have 2 shakes and a no carb meal a day. If your following the plan and really worried about it I would call your doc and talk to them. Dont' be afraid to express yourself. I'm sure your not the first person this has happened with. I wasn't overly concern about the weight loss as much as I was about eating non fat foods and when it came time to weigh in on my surgery day they didn't seem to care much.

I seriously hope my body has gone into a self protection mode right now. I've only lost 5.5 lbs since my surgery. I lose a lb and gain it back. Yo Yo'ing with 2 to 3 lbs is frustrating but everything I read says this is normal. Doesn't seem normal to me to not lose when I'm eating so little.

but I'm a pretty strong willed woman and I WILL win! My body won't hold onto this fat forever!

Stay focused!

I've already been in the pool. Wasn't thrilled about putting on a suit but it was HOT!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
