Ok i havent been on in awhile had alot going on ! First off my band slipped that ive had since dec. 29th 2010 and this is why i think it slipped this is just my thinking but i learned something from ! Let me just say im not a Dr so i dont know 100% if its from this but pretty sure ive lost alot of weight but i fell off the wagon and would either eat to fast and get sick or eat just a little to much or drink to fast and my band ended up slipping Thank God they didnt have to remove it they just let all the Fluid out for about a month ! Let me tell you what ive learned #1 ive come to far to just screw it up like this ive jumped back on the wagon and im getting my fills again i did however put about 3 lbs back on thats ok to me because it pushed me even harder because i dont want to be the person that i was before ive lost a 1 lb off of the 3 ive gained so i know thats a start i will not get down about it i picked myself back up and i learned from it im so thankful i didnt have to have it removed cause i love being banded ! so here i go again i have 40lbs left then i will have plastic surgery to have the excess skin removed so im really looking forward to it ! i had a fill today and im finally starting to get restriction back ! We will all have our up's and down's but if we can learn from them and pick ourselves up we can go far !

mandyluvmylapband-What a great attitude!! We ALL make mistakes but its what we do in the aftermath that makes us a sucess or a failure. You aren't a failure, until you give up. Some might have choose to blame the band and have it removed....Its sometimes hard (at least it is for me) to admit to ourselves that we have messed up....and have no one to blame but ourselves.

It sounds like you are back on track, motivated and ready to get down to business and loose that last 45 pounds. Thank you for sharing.....it helps us newbies realize if we get complacent and stop following the rules, we too may face the consquences.

Please stay pluged into the site so we can help support you, and you can help guide others that have gotten sidetracked BEFORE they end up with a slip.

Thank you so much for sharing this! Your experience will likely help others from making the same mistake. The fact you're right back at it, despite the set back, is very encouraging.

I have a lot of respect for you. Keep us posted how you're doing, I'm sure you'll do great!

You're so positive, it's great! A slip worries me because at times I tend to PB a lot, so I get worried....but your attitude is contagious I think! Thanks!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
