SabrinaS 47 Posted April 24, 2012 That shouldn't affect surgery should it?
Shannon28 26 Posted April 24, 2012 I had a cough and congestion that lasted with me for about two weeks before surgery, I still have no idea if it was allergies or what. But when they called me two days before surgery to go over everything they could hear how congested I was and asked me if I was sick, I said I thought it was just allergies and she said okay but if I was sick they would have to postpone the surgery. On surgery day I felt fine but when they checked my temp it was high, I told them that I didn't know why it was high and I didn't feel sick (mine is always a little elevated). They went ahead and did the surgery but I think it was because I was showing no other signs of being sick.

Shannon28 26 Posted April 24, 2012 Oh no :-( hopefully its just my allergies I pulled a dusty blanket out the closet yesterday that's when I started feeling bad..but my nephew is sick so I'm not sure which it is I hope your not sick either. Just try your best to stay away from anyone sick (I know it's hard) and hopefully if you do have something it will be gone before your surgery. Good Luck! indyhandmade 43 Posted April 25, 2012 If you are sick, postpone the surgery. I wouldn't want to mix anesthesia, bad lungs and poor immunity all at once. I understand the frustration with waiting, but your health is worth it!
mandagay 93 Posted April 25, 2012 Omg if ur sick def postpone. U do NOT want to try to recoup on top of being sick. It will only be a small wait. Def get better befor surgery.
