Im New Here. Just Got My Surgery Date And Inhve Some Questions

Recommended Posts

Just found out my surgery is scheduled for May 10th! I'm so excited but scared too.

I have a couple of Questions for the ladies here...

Did any of you experience any major changes in your breasts? I have always been 'top heavy' even at a young age. I'm just wondering if that will change.

Also does your husband or parter treat you differently now that you're losing weight? My husband is amazing and I was far when we got married so I know he loves me anyway. I don't doubt him. I just wonder how they react to this 'new you'

Thanks in advance :)

I'm down only like 40 lbs since my surgery and haven't noticed any drastic change with my girls yet. (thankfully) I'm also 6'1" so my weight is really spread out. I think my boyfriend and I have been getting along a lot better. I feel more secure with myself and I think that makes him feel better about me...or I'm allowing him to show what he has always wanted to. Good luck with your surgery. Mine was a breeze...wish I would have done it sooner.

Hi there, Great question. I was wondering about the girls too... Mine are add on's and I am afraid I might have to go back in for an adjustment there. If I hit my goal I will look like a toothpick with olives on top! Its good to know you have a good support system. I do too. My husband is great and loved me fat so I know he will be happy to be with me healthy and more confident. I am getting banded on May 18th. Keep us posted and good luck! See you on the other side:)

My breasts have shrunk dramatically - yay! I have lost 60kg in 12 months and am thrilled with my progress.

On the relationship front, my husband is my greatest champion and it was comment from him that spurred me into WLS - he didn't want to be pushing me around in a wheelchair because I was too heavy to walk. And he wanted me around for a very long time.

Now he exercises with me, and even gets jealous if I get in a bike ride without him! Not only is our relationship better, but his cholesterol levels have also dropped, so I get to have him around for a long time, too.

I have noticed my butt and breast have changed :o . Really didn't want to lose the breast but I'm still happy. My husband is the greatest. He has been there through thick and thin and I mean that literary. LOL I think he is more affectionate now.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
