Which Post-Band Diet Works Best For U?

Recommended Posts

I know this may be a question better suited for the "food and nutrition" board, but I usually get more responses here!

I was just wondering what guidelines u use when it comes to eating? I had my 1st fill Apr 6, and definitely do feel full after abt a cup-cup 1/2. I am hungry between meals, but always choose a high protein/low carb snack.< /p>

But more specifically, I lost 7 lbs the first week after the fill. Now 2 weeks out, I only lost 1 this week doing the EXACT same thing. Zumba 4x/week, high protein/low carb, measuring, weighing...all of it. I know 1-2 lbs ber week is typical, just a bit frustrating. I haven't touched bread, Pasta, rice, cereal....FOREVER!

Here's the guidelines I've been using.

25g fat or under

50 carbs or under

25g sugar or under

80g Protein or greater

Avg 800 cal/day

So could too few calories be hindering my WL? My surgeon doesn't have a preference on which "diet" u use, as long as u get your protein. So he says some use Weight Watchers, some South Beach/Atkins...just whatever works with weighing and measuring as well.

So what works best for u? Do u watch carbs? Or just calories alone? Thank u!

By losing 7lbs the first week your body will adjust and normally only let you lose a small amount the following weeks, average of 1-2 lbs per week isnt weekly, base your average over 4 weeks and u already hit goal. I am sure it must have been explained to you that this is not a fast track weight loss u already hit goal this month on average terms so now u can enjoy losing the extra lbs you lose and dont stress over it. Thw numbers u put down seem fine to me maybe try a 100 or 200 a day more but the nutrition side seems right .. personally i would give it a few weeks of doing the same thing if u are stuck losing then change something like the amount of calories but any changes make them small :)

Hi sarahbear...sounds like you are doing everything correct. I have found the high protein/low carb diet working well for me. I will tell you I keep my carbs a little lower at 35, but everyone can tolerate them a little differently. I do 800 cal/60+protein/less than 35 carbs

I was consistently loosing 3 pounds a week until the dreaded Friday the 13th!! it was my daughters Spring Ball and I was organizing it so I was there...I was good to make sure there were pleanty of veggies for me to eat and I saved all my carbs for that evening "just in case"...in a moment of weakness I ate a brownie....Just 1 brownie!!! I know it probably well exceeded my 35 carb limit and that ended my ketosis.....I'm so sad. I went back to my regular high protein/lowcarb diet the very next day...but nothing has changed....the scale has not moved since.grrrr

It is my plan to really restrict my carbs this week...back to less than 20 in the hopes of entering ketosis again, and then make my way back up to 35 in a couple of weeks...hopefully this will shock my system into compliance!!

Thought maybe you might had had one of those days recently...and maybe you aren't in ketosis anymore.

Might be worth a shot.

Awesome help guys! The scale actually moved down 3 lbs today, but the past 2 days I have been chugging Water (which I sometimes forget) to flush out those fat cells. Cassie, good point. Overall, rather than weekly. It's so motivating to see that scale dropping, easy to stay on track. But when it slows, it's like "Give me some Fruity Pebbles!" Off to Boot Camp now, enjoy your day ladies :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
