Iluvharleys 15 Posted February 28, 2006 I always go by the time of my appointment. If it is really early, then I wait, but if it is later, I eat something light, like Soup, salad, etc. I usually have to do liquids the remainder of the day.
michelle43mi 2 Posted February 28, 2006 thank you for your reply! mine is early so i guess ill wait:)
paula 4 Posted February 28, 2006 I agree with Betty. If you normally eat early, then try a protien shake - no solids. Oh and just as a FYI: remember after the fill, liquids for the first 24 hours! Good luck!
roro33 0 Posted February 28, 2006 my dodctor never said to eat or not to eat. but, if you must eat, eat yogurt, or something that will empty quickly from your stomach. because, they need to fill and empty while taking pictures... don't eat to close to appointment either.. hope it helps. NJChick 3 Posted February 28, 2006 I wondered about this myself... good question. My doc had me on Clear Liquids for ..... get this crap... 5 days after my first fill. Normally its 2 days but I think he didn't want any trouble during the weekend so he extended it a few extra days, nice eh~ . Let me just say I ate on the 3rd day (mushies). But this got me thinking that maybe I should have eaten before the fill so I wouldn't go thru the day with a growling belly.
bondgirl 0 Posted February 28, 2006 I was told not to eat or drink anything two hours before. Then after I had my fill I was told I could only have liquids for three days and mushies for another three. I hope this helps. Angie
HarleyNana 10 Posted February 28, 2006 It's amazing the various time spans of the liquids after the fill. My doctor has me do liquids 24 hours after, unless it's an unfill, , then he says I can eat whenever I want.:hungry:

kimalicious 5 Posted February 28, 2006 My doc says not to eat anything the day of your appointment but some Water is ok, just not too close to your appointment. Good luck with your first fill!
Feel2Young2B40 0 Posted March 1, 2006 I usually go in the late morning for my fills so I intentionally eat light that morning and then be prepared for 24 hours of Protein Drinks. I just find it a little easier for me. Good luck!
roro33 0 Posted March 1, 2006 wow... i can't believe they make you go 6 days after with mushies.. my doctor says liquid that day, then normal...
vinesqueen 2 Posted March 1, 2006 Man, doctors are so different in their protocols! Okay, we almost never have fills under the flouro, our fill nurses are that good. I can't speak for most people, but the sting from the needle is hardly even noticable. We are told to "take it easy" for the rest of the day after our fills, we don't have to do days of liquids or mushies. And I would suggest eating something an hour or so before you fill. kimalicious 5 Posted March 1, 2006 Mine is 3 days liquids and 3 days mushies after! Which actually I'm glad for, because I always hear people on here complaining how they are too tight right after a fill and they try to eat and then have to go a few days on mushies anyways. I tried to eat after one of my fills and had some serious pain from getting stuck, I stick to what my doc says now!
